A Funny ThInG Happened....

We had a family party for the 24th of July in Celebration of Pioneer Day and also Big H turned 1. A really funny thing happened to me and my uncle T. We were all sitting together talking my uncle leaned back in his chair and it wobbled and started to fall over .....since I was sitting next to him I thought about letting him just fall for a second and then reached over and grabbed his chair to try and push it back down. Next thing I know I'm falling over too. So Hubs being the nice man that he is decided to get out my camera and snap a picture. Thanks a bunch it's really something i've always wanted to capture on film. Me on the ground from falling. NOT!!! Oh this is just a typical Autumnism. Only I would set out to do something good and have it back fire. But hey at least we got a good laugh out of it and both of us had a bit of sore arms from trying to catch ourselves.

IT WAS ACTUALLY A REALLY FUNNY SIGHT I'M SURE!!!!

My kiddo's also had a lot of fun. This was the first year that Boo Boo actually got to hold a sparkler and he absolutely loved them. It was really funny to watch him twirl them round and round with such a happy face.

Gus and Sassy had just as much fun. They are getting so big. It makes me sad and happy at the same time to see them growing up soooo fast.

*Side bar: Cute picture's of Big H on my photoblog.

Pay It Forward.... (Come Play.)

Chris' cousin Tammy did this so now i'm going to. I'm participating in a Pay It Forward Exchange.
I will send a small handmade gift to the first three people who leave a comment on my blog. The only thing you have to do in return is pay it forward by making the same promise on your blog. Apparently this has been going on for over a year. I hope you comment so you can enjoy the fun too! (My rules are a little different however, I need to know you. If you live out of state this may take me a couple of weeks to get to you as I rarely go to the post office.) (Sorry Jen, It took me a little while to get you your prize from my 100th post, but you got it right?)

A Great Heritage!!

I come from a great heritage.... Who can't say that right.

So because we're celebrating Pioneer Day today I thought I say a couple of things about some amazing people who have really touched my life.

I feel truly blessed for all those pioneers who have made sacrifices in their lives so that I might have the freedom and opportunities that I have now. My Grandma being one of those amazing people. She is a modern day pioneer. She was born in Rotterdam Holland just before World War II. The beginning of her life was faced with more hardship than I can even fathom. I think she is a very strong woman of faith. She is someone that I have looked up to in so many ways and for a time I had the priviledge to live with her. A time in my life I have always cherished.

Then, there are my ancestors of long ago who came across the oceans and then the plains to Utah. I have a Great, Great, Great Grandma that I have recently read about who had an amazing life as well. My Mom gave me an article written about her by The Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She was interviewed and it was truly amazing. This article states and I'm quoting verbatim: "Our first story in this chapter deals with the life and accomplishments of Mary Field Garner who lived to be 107 years of age. Her records show she was born in England, lived in Nauvoo-the-Beautiful, and as far as we have been able to ascertain she was the last living witness of the teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith."

I read ten pages of an amazing womans' struggles in life and she said this about Joseph Smith's Teachings : "We were glad to attend church and listen to the Prophet Joseph and the other leading brethren teach the Gospel of Jesus Christ to us. We marveled at Joseph's superior intellegence of the Gospel and the simple way he could explain it to the Saints so that the most unlearned member could know and understand the truth." She later talked about her journey across the plains: "The journey was long and tiresome one, filled with many trials and hardships. Some died along the way and were buried by the roadside, fires being burned on their graves so the Indians would not disturb their final resting place. Our food supply was nearly gone. We were put on a strict ration, but during all of these hardships no one complained. The Saints rejoiced, for their knowledge of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and their spirits were undaunted by suffering. Westward, Ho! was the cry of evey Latter-Day Saint. Just to be in Salt Lake Valley with our prophet and leaders and the rest of the Saints was the greatest desire of our hearts."

This is just a tiny part of what I read. I am so amazed at her devotion to the Lord.

I am so thankful for my other ancestors who settled Gunnison Utah. I am thankful for the family and people who kept records so that I could know about their special and unique lives.

So whether you come from modern day pioneers or those from long ago take this day to remeber those special people.

Days Of 47 Floats Party!!

If you know me then you know I'm all about free. So for family night we went to see the Days Of 47 Floats at the South Town Expo Center. We took our neighbors kiddos too. Quite the grand adventure. One of the float makers let each of the kids get up and have their picture taken. They all behaved really well and Hubs asked me if I could imagine having 6 kids and I said "NOOOO WAAY" 3 is good enough for me.
We also got to vote for our favorite float. There were some pretty amazing floats and I was really impressed by them. Well I think we'll make it a tradition and go every now.

Rantings of the MoThEr of LOUD kids at church.

I love to go to Church. I love to sit and listen in R.S. I love, love love
S.S. I did not however enjoy sacrament meeting today due to 3 little kiddos who think that they can talk in loud voices, fight with one another and take each others crayons away from each other. Then expect their parents to not get mad..... ARgghhhhh!!!
So this is my experience almost every week.
A few weeks ago we told our kids that if they were naughty they had to sit on the bench for 5 minutes after church. We have followed through with this, but some how they seem to not mind. We have taken the church bag away and make them sit instead of do things like color or look at books. This doesn't seem to bother them either So now I'm at the point of what to do? Today I looked around and noticed I wasn't alone. So that was some consolation. I just pray silently that this too shall pass and one day we'll make it the whole day with being able to sit and listen and actually enjoy sacrament meeting. Sorry I'm having a pitty party today.

If I were queen for a day!!!

This is the newest of my attempts at a weekly something.....So here we go!
If I were QUEEN for a day I would make everybody not drive for the day.
You would be amazed at how much money the oil companies would lose if every person on every continent wouldn't drive for just one day..... Okay how about this. I'd make it so no one could drive for a week. Then those dumb companies would really crap their pants!!!! I'm so sick of gas prices soaring. I literally haven't gone any where because it's too expensive. So most of the summer we've found things to do around our home and neighborhood. I am so sick of spending over $100.00 on gas every time I fill up. It makes me so mad I wanna scream.... I think of all the things a hundred dollars could buy and then reality comes back to me and I look at all the money being spilled into my gas tank.
Ughhhhhh!!!!
(Maybe next weeks will be positive. Who knows!)

A Big Boy, a Booism and a photo shoot.

Boo-Boo finally after many many months went poop on the potty!!!!! Yahooeeee. Let me just say that this Mom bribed and since he accomplished the task at hand he got a new "blue" motorcycle. He specifically asked me if I would take a picture of him and his motorcycle. (I guess he thought it would be good for the blog.)HeeeHeeeHeee!!!! He was sooo proud that he finally pooped too. Hopefully he'll continue on as we only have 5 weeks until preschool and this potty training thing is gonna kill me if he doesn't get it and stick with it continuously. My other kiddo's weren't as difficult.

* A funny booism:
We were watching Lady and the Tramp and there is a part where Lady is in the shelter and the other dogs are singing and one of those dogs is a chihwahwah (do not check spelling.) Boo said to me:"Momma where is the Chickiewahwah?" Me: Laughing and pointing to which one it was.

**I also did a little photo shoot last night up A.F. Canyon with a gal I know and her family. I was kind of intimidated as she is a photographer and I'm just a make beleive one. But I had fun and got some really cute candids. They're on my photo blog today.

Ward Camp Out and A Baby Book...

We had our ward camp out this past Friday. It was a lot of fun. Our kids played in the dirt, made a few new friends and had a blast with the old ones. We got to know each other a little bit better and had a few great laughs. We froze our tails off in our tent though and Chris kept reminding me that we should've taken our trailer.(Sorry Hub's I'll Listen Next Time.) On Saturday morning we had to leave early because I had a baby shower to go to and Sass was going to Lagoon with Grandpa Derral and Zach. We really appreciate all the hard work the A.C. did to help us have a blast. We have some really amazing people in our ward.

I also had probably one of the scariest experiences of my life. E was hit by accident with a stick and was crying so I picked him up and he wasn't taking a breath because he was crying so hard and his eyes rolled in the back of his head and he went really frigid and then started to convulse and then passed out. I was a mess. I screamed for Chris and He actually thought E was acting weird when I picked him up so he was all ready walking to us. E woke up and within five minutes was just fine. We were told to keep an eye on him for the rest of the day. I think my friends thought I was over reacting and I probably was but I have never experienced a child having a seizure and I hopefully won't have to again. When we got in the truck and left Chris and I talked about how scared we were. We felt kind of helpless. When we got home we made a couple of calls and were also told to just watch him for the day. I kept hugging my little guy all day. I kept asking him to look at me so I could check his pupils and he would get mad and hide his face.
(Back to his ornery, cute little self.)

I also went to a baby shower for a friend in my old ward and this is the baby book I made her.

Funny Ladies!!!

I have a scrapbook night at my home once a month for my ward and some of my favorite people come every single month no matter what. I have the best time and I giggle, I do the laugh so hard I cry, tell more labor experiences and kid junk than I ever do scrapbooking. So thanks last night to the 2 ladies who did show up and make my week. It's always good to connect with other adults who when you say something actually look at you like they understand what your trying to say instead of like my little rug rats who have no care about what I say and half the time run off before I'm even done talking. It was fun to talk 'till one in the morning and have yummy goodies and pop and yes I did get the project done that I was working on, but it's a gift so I can't show pictures of it untill after friday.

Pea Pickers...(Is that a word) and The Canyon

My Mom grows an amazing garden. She has Tomatoes, Peas, Carrots, Squash, Gigantic Pumpkins (like 100 lb. kind), Strawberries and peppers. My kids love to help. They also love to reap the rewards of their labors.....By eating the pea's right out of the pods. Oh how they love the time that they spend with Grandma in the garden. (When I was young the garden was a lot bigger and I hated working in it. Hence why I have no garden now. I know really bad because we should be prepared with our food storage. So this will happen next year for absolutely possitively sure.) Next on the list....

My family had a gathering of sorts up Milcreek canyon last Saturday night to celebrate my cousins birthday!!!! The kids totally love the mountains. (Yes that includes the biggest kid ever.... HUBS) He took all the kids exploring and hiking. Thanks to him I got a little bit of a break. Easton has been so funny with his little hat fetish these past couple of weeks and I caught him looking like a Gangsta with it on. Can you see the look of trouble in his eyes HEe hEe Hee!!! We had really yummy Dutch ove b-bq pork sammie's, good salads and for dessert.... Dutch Oven Cobbler and SMORES!!!!

JuSt An AdDiCtIoN Of SoRtS***

So I have this totally unfathomable addiction to pop!!! I'll admit it. I know a lot of you secretly do too. I absolutely love Cherry Coke and if it's not available I choose Dr. Pepper. I have had long periods of time when pop wasn't even in my daily agenda and times when caffeine was a huge no no and I avoided it like the plague. No so much any more. I love that refreshing first gulp of the yummy goodness it offers. Not to mention the little wake me up I receive and it's received every day unfortunately. So now you know why I can't run worth a darn any more and why my darn muffin top hasn't disappeared yet. So maybe one day soon I'll give it up .... Yeah I know Dad I'm not going to forget we have a year to train for that half marathon and I will be there come Hell or high water. So you'd better too.

Boys WILL Be BOYS!!!

So I had 2 totally silly, crazy boys yesterday. One wouldn't take his mp3 player off and looked completely like a total punk with a skull shirt and holy pants.(He's too young should I be scared. NOOO I don't think so.) The other one got him self dressed and if you'll take notice his shirt is on inside out and his pants are on backward. Too dang cute if you ask me. I finally however, got Gus to smile a normal Smile..... instead of some cheesy grin or angry face. Gotta love those boys. (They're definately all their DaDdy!)
